Chronic Pain
Who's a Good Fit For this Work
People with ongoing pain or recurring flare-ups who want practical, evidence-informed support and are willing to track patterns over time.
Not a Good Fit
People looking for a one-off feel-good session with no interest in patterns, home care, or realistic expectations about what massage can and can't do.
Understanding What You're Experiencing
Chronic pain can feel hopeless, exhausting, and like it's running your life — slowly shrinking what feels physically possible to get through on a normal day. For some people, it's a constant grinding background noise in the body. For others, it arrives in waves, slamming in out of nowhere and wiping out the rest of the day.
How We Approach It
We use graded pressure, myofascial work, passive stretching, and nervous-system-focused touch. We don't try to force change faster than your system can handle it. Sessions are paced to what you bring in that day.
What to Discuss With Your Therapist
Tell your LMT what your body feels like right now, how often your pain spikes, and what you're hoping to get from the session. Any patterns you've noticed — time of day, activity level, sleep — are worth mentioning.
Between-Session Considerations
Tracking your flare-ups between sessions — even informally — helps both of you see what's shifting. You don't need an app; a few words in a notes folder works.
